Make it Natural
Whether I’m out photographing a wedding, an engagement session or simply taking pictures of friends or family on a day out, one thing that people often mention is how they love the natural look of the pictures. Cheesy, posed photographs don’t tell the real story. Natural pictures capture real moments that convey all the emotions of the day.
That’s why I love weddings. The emotions are already there. I don’t have to grab attention and shout ‘say cheese!’ because people are already smiling.
Make it Personal
I really believe the best photographs are taken when people are just being themselves. Every wedding is different. All those small details that go into making the biggest day of your lives. All your loved ones there to celebrate you. It all makes a unique experience that’s personal to you.
Let’s not spend forever on endless posed group pictures. Let’s just celebrate you being you.
Make it Candid
Ever seen a wedding video where the photographer is lying down on the floor, getting in everybody’s way, just to get a shot that he wants for his portfolio? I have…and it’s kind of embarrassing, not to mention unprofessional.
I approach things a little differently. I find most people are more comfortable when they forget the camera is even there. It’s your day and the focus should be on you and the beloved friends and family that you share it with. It’s my job to blend in and record those special moments that you can keep forever.
